What is Reiki?

Reiki is a natural, energy-based, healing practice with roots in ancient Chinese and Japanese healing traditions and a Reiki Master has achieved the highest level of training in this healing modality. Every person has an energy body and this body can fall out of balance as a result of daily life stresses, injury and illness. When it does, it can lead to emotional and physical fatigue and illness. Therefore, bringing the energy body back in to balance promotes good physical and emotional health and well-being.

What Does a Healing Session Involve?

During a typical session, the practitioner gently channels a frequency of energy, known as the Universal Life Force, through their hands to the client’s energy body which includes the aura and chakras. Depending on the client’s comfort level, the healing is delivered hands-on or a few inches above the body with the client either seated of laying down. Most sessions last about an hour though they can go shorter or longer depending on the client’s needs.

What are the Benefits of Reiki?

At a minimum, most people experience Reiki as incredibly calming and relaxing-sort of like a fantastic massage without the muscle and tissue manipulation. Some people also find that it relieves the pain associated with a variety of physical injuries and ailments. There have even been reports of Reiki being shown to cure serious illness though this is not an outcome that can be promised. Occasionally, a person will not “feel” anything at all during a session. This is not an indication that there is no healing taking place.
